It was a hot July day in 1953 when truck driver Elvis Presley walked into Sun Studio at 706 Union Avenue, Memphis to record two songs for his mother Gladys. The charts were filled with sugary pop singers but Elvis loved the raw excitement of black music or race music as it was then known. When studio owner Sam Phillips heard him sing he knew he had found the voice and image that he was looking for. Sam brought in guitarist Scotty Moore, bassist Bill Black and later DJ Fontana to back Elvis and together they created a sound that would change the world of music forever.

A show written Produced and Directed by Colin McCourt. Cast including jive dancers from DanceNorthWest.
